    Why Fibrothal heating systems

Fibrothal combines the heating element and a high-performance insulation hot face in one pre-shaped module. Compared with a conventional ceramic fibre module lining:

    1. 1Low shrinkageUnder 1%, against more than 2.4% for conventional ceramic fibre modules.
    2. 2No recrystallisationCeramic fibre modules can recrystallise within months, turning hard and brittle and shedding fibre. Fibrothal doesn't.
    3. 3No saggingWith low shrinkage and no recrystallisation, the lining keeps its shape and properties for years.
    4. 4About half the anchorsIts own strength needs roughly 50% fewer anchors, and the supports stay out of the heat instead of conducting it away.
    5. 5Handles high air velocityAbrasion-resistant enough for high air velocity without a stainless inner casing, which would otherwise soak up heat every time the furnace starts.
    6. 6Energy saving10–12% expected with a Fibrothal hot face and ceramic fibre blanket back-up, compared with an all-module lining.
    7. 7Less downtimeLonger life and stable properties mean fewer breakdowns.
    8. 8Faster installationPre-shaped blocks go in quicker than laying modules and fixing elements on top, so the furnace is back in service sooner.

    Why ROB heating elements

ROB (Rod Over Bent) wire elements, compared with conventional strip-type elements:

    1. 1More radiating surfaceOver 30% more exposed surface than strip elements, so wall loading can be higher and the furnace can be shorter.
    2. 2Higher surface load4–4.5 W/cm² at 1000–1050 °C, against 2.5–2.6 W/cm² for strip: fewer elements, less support, faster heating and better productivity.
    3. 3Less support, less heat lossSupports sit only in the hot face, so they don't carry heat out of the furnace, a perennial problem in strip-lined furnaces.
    4. 4No transformerROB elements can usually be designed for line voltage. Strip elements usually need a step-down transformer, with copper, hysteresis and eddy-current losses of about 2.5–3%, plus oil filtration, dielectric and acidity tests and capacitor-bank checks.
